Languis “LA” is the band’s 13th record. Originally conceived as a retrospective album with past recordings of the band, “LA” took a form in itself by the suggestions of NY label CD-Rt, choosing the songs and the order of them. At the end of the process “LA” became a bit of a lost record that presents the band’s classic melancholic melodic/ambient style. The songs have taken years to come together as one release, but now it is clear that it is meant to be this way.
 
From the first workspaces in Altadena, Ale’s apartment in Hollywood, to the depths of the Eco Village basement in Koreatown and the guest house haven in South Pasadena, the songs in “LA” do end up portraying the city that Languis chose as their home.  The sun is up, the sky is blue, and there’s no traffic on the 110 freeway. Your car speeds up and the windows are open. At the time Ale and Macros were unaware of its impact but in the end, LA served as a profound influence for this collection of songs.

Sandy Yang records music and lives in Southern California. In 1996 she became a member of The Red Krayola while attending Art Center in Pasadena. Along with Mayo Thompson and revolving members of the band, they toured in the U.S., Japan, Austria and Paris. Her discography includes 3 Red Krayola albums, one of them featuring long time RK collaborators, Art & Language. Later, in the The Best of All, she played drums with fellow bandmate Tom Watson on guitar (Red Krayola, Overpass, Slovenly, Mike Watt & the Missingmen, Lou Barlow) Erik Bluhm on bass and Heather Cantrell on Keyboards. Currently working on solo recordings. Some of her own unreleased songs have been featured on Mike Watt’s – The Watt From Pedro Show and Dambably Radio in London.
